A visit to The Entrance on another rainy day

The weather forecast showed possible showers between 0mm and 1mm and we thought we could live with that. It was really warm in the morning, but there was a thunderstorm just before we left home. We still thought the weather will be fine, but it was a cold, windy, wet afternoon. We had a BBQ and returned home.

Our first camping trip in Oz

Adriaan completed his school certificate in November and we decided to take a break. It is normal for us to take last minute decisions and we decided this is the right time to start camping. We left our camping gear in South Africa and we had to build up a new collection in a short time. The shopping was done and we headed north. We have not made any reservations and decided to go where the road takes us. We ended at a beautiful spot in Nambucca Heads at the White Albatross. There was a lot of rain and wind during the week and the newly built camp kitchen came in handy.

It was extremely windy when we arrived. Adriaan is holding the tent for the other two to anchor it.

Sunset while we are pitching the tent

Enjoying breakfast. The boys did a great job pitching the tent. It remained standing during all the stormy weather.

Due to the bad weather we had to find other things to do. We went to Coffs Harbour a few times.

Just when we had to leave the sun came out. We enjoyed the morning at the beach and left late afternoon.

On the way back near Kempsey. They claim to have the best pies in Australia. The boys agree.
